Our University Has Become a Member of the International Association of Universities (IAU)
Our application for membership in the International Association of Universities, an affiliate of UNESCO, has been approved.

Our application for membership in the International Association of Universities (IAU)—one of the steps taken in line with our university’s internationalization policy—has been approved following a comprehensive evaluation process. IAU membership is recognized as a benchmark for universities’ academic credibility and international relations capacity.

Recognized by leading international organizations, particularly the UN and the EU, IAU membership opens new doors for our university to promote its academic work on a global scale and further expand its global impact. IAU membership will pave the way for future international engagement of our University. In line with its vision of contributing to global academic knowledge production and accumulation in the social sciences, our University aims to play an active role on IAU platforms.

About the IAU

Founded in 1950 under the auspices of UNESCO, the International Association of Universities (IAU) serves as a leading global network of higher education institutions. As an independent, membership-based international organization, the IAU includes numerous prestigious universities and academic institutions from around the world among its members. The IAU enhances the visibility of its member institutions within the UN system and contributes to the adoption of the UN’s key agendas—particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—within the academic community.

The IAU also holds the status of an official partner of UNESCO in the World Higher Education Database (WHED) program. By working closely with UNESCO Chairs, it helps foster strong and sustainable ties among these Chairs.
